That’s the direction for Roswell, New Mexico envisioned by Guy Malone, a candidate in Roswell’s upcoming mayoral election.
Although the city is best-known for the 1947 UFO incident, Malone says there other attractions the city should emphasize—a vibrant arts community and a diverse economy based on agriculture and cheap, abundant energy.
His platform focuses on three issues: Promoting the arts, harnessing Roswell’s cheap electricity rates to become a “Bitcoin city,” and joining southeastern New Mexico in seceding from the state—in effect, “kiss[ing] Santa Fe goodbye.”
Guy’s campaign website is RoswellGuy.com.
