RUSSIA’S INTERVENTION in Syria has complicated things for the United States and its allies, especially Turkey and Saudi Arabia. It appears that Vladimir Putin, in one move, has boxed out the nations trying to overthrow Syrian president Bashar al-Assad, and, strangely enough, positioned Russia as the champion of Christendom against radical Islam.
