THE MOST mysterious piece of fabric in the world is a length of linen housed at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in Turin, northern Italy.  Some believe it is the burial shroud of Jesus of Nazareth, due to the inexplicable imprint of the image of a man who suffered physical trauma consistent with crucifixion.

Barrie Schwortz is the president of the Shroud of Turin Education and Research Association, Inc. (STERA, Inc.). He discusses his journey from shroud skeptic to believer, why he believes the shroud is authentic, and why — since he accepts the shroud as genuine — he is still a Jew.

This interview is one of about two dozen recorded over the three days of the Prophecy Summit at Pikes Peak, July 26-28, 2013. To see these interviews with all of the presentations from the Prophecy Summit, please visit our friends at Prophecy in the News.

  1. Wish you would have asked him about Isaiah 53. As I understand it…it is routinley skipped by Rabbi’s during their scripture rotation. Is your take that Mr. Schwortz in essence believes the same as Muslims…that Jesus was a mighty prophet of God, but not the Messiah?
