VFTB Live: Rob Skiba – SEED

Seed the series

FILMMAKER ROB SKIBA talks about his forthcoming sci-fi series Seed, based the very issues we wrestle with on P.I.D. Radio and A View From the Bunker: angels, demons, the Nephilim, and the eternal war for the souls of humanity. See www.SeedTheSeries.com.

Also: sabotage at a missile base in Iran; China enters the Middle East equation; Rick Warren’s snarky tweet; and modern-day apostles who claim to have more power than Jesus Christ.

  1. On the issue of Christian Science Fiction / Fantasy…

I’m persuaded that Christ will work in darkness to bring his chosen out, whether prison, on the street, in battle, illness, or in deliverance (cp. Russ Dizdar). That clearly extends to virtual worlds, fantasies, day dreams, delusions, and insanity. So Christian SF/F seems a proper place for evangelism. I’m less certain about using it or any other entertainment for discipleship.

As for myth and fable, we have clear instruction:

Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Philippians 4:8-9 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

Titus 1:13-14 This witness [about Cretians] is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith; Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.

1 Timothy 1:4 Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.

1 Timothy 4:7 But refuse profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.

2 Timothy 4:3-4 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

2 Peter 1:16 For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.

I’m very glad to see this dealt with. As a good example of how to use radio/podcasting to present a true witness: http://www.unshackled.org/listen_home.html

Looking forward to more examination of the topic.

  2. I am listening to “Return To Babylon”. I am familiar with Rob Skiba from Gary Stearman. He mentioned Tom Horn a couple of times. I am a little concerned lately about Tom Horn. It seems like more & more, he almost promotes Catholicism. Sometimes it sounds like he considered the Roman Catholic Church as basically good, until it was infiltrated by the Illuminati. But, what about the millions of people killed by the Catholic church before the Illuminati existed? His most recent endeavor is about an evil pope, next in line, Peter the Roman, as if the popes, for the most part, have not been evil all along. I’m starting to wonder about Mr. Horn.
