VFTB Live: Kuba the Demon Slayer

Full Armor of God Ministries

HOLLYWOOD has shaped our concept of demons with movies like The Exorcist and The Exorcism Of Emily Rose. The truth is a little simpler, and a lot more shocking when you’re staring it in the face. The bottom line is that Jesus cast down unclean spirits throughout His Earthly ministry, so this is not a subject that modern Christians should ignore.

Our guest, Scotland “Kuba” Kubinski, A/K/A Kuba the Demon Slayer, is the founder of Full Armor of God Ministries and host of the Full Armor of God Broadcast.  We discuss the differences between biblical demonology and TV ghost hunting.

Plus: the Bunker Intelligence Briefing, Glenn Beck’s “Restoring Honor” rally, a new Brownsville Revival, and your calls.

  1. Adam and Eve were made in the image of God. But after the fall, whose image was mankind reflecting, especially in consideration of II Corinthians 3:18 which states “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.”

The question that begs itself is: whose image are we before we are changed into the glory of the Lord? God’s? And what then of the unbeliever? God’s?

I believe that after the fall, each new human was born in sin and a son of man with a dead spirit, not a son of God with a living spirit. That is why Jesus appeared to the natural mind and senses as the Son of Man but was revealed to the spirit as the Son of God which sinful man could not see with the natural mind or senses – it had to be revealed.

Ergo, psychic abilities (as far as any standard dictionary definition goes) are always and forever demon driven. There are even many stories of psychics who lose their “gifting” after becoming a Christian.

One cannot retrofit a psychic pre-Christian “gift” into a post-Christian new creation.

The gift of discernment uses the spirit, not the psychic power of the mind (which is the enemy of God).

This gift of discernment can be abused but it is certainly not in any linguistic sense a “psychic” gift even with the added calcium for stronger bones and teeth; and in fact the use of that term in a Christian context (apologetically) is misleading.

  2. Kubinski says that the Witch of Endor was “surprised by what came up” when she did a seance for King Saul. This is blatantly wrong, as a cursory reading of 1 Samuel 28 will reveal. She was told to contact Samuel, and then Samuel arrived. It’s quite disturbing to hear guests who are not confronted when they rewrite scripture to suit their message.

I agree with Kubinski that “ghosts” do not haunt locations or people. Those are demons. To call himself “The Demon Slayer” is the height of arrogance. One day in the future, God will be the first and last Demon Slayer. It will not be Kubinski. I was expecting an exorcist when I read this appellation, but he is a ghost hunter who doesn’t believe in ghosts. This is not straightforward, honest, or sincere.

Skeptical: I didn’t confront Kuba because he isn’t rewriting anything. He’s not the only one who’s suggested that the witch was surprised at what arrived in response to her summons. Chuck Missler, for example.

And yes, Kuba is flamboyant, but he is also an exorcist of sorts. He has engaged in deliverance ministry, although we didn’t directly address that work due to time constraints. Maybe next time.

His paranormal research is directly related to your correct observation that what our TV friends present as ghosts are in fact demons. And you are also correct that God is the only true demon slayer, a statement with which Kuba would not disagree.

  4. “you are also correct that God is the only true demon slayer, a statement with which Kuba would not disagree.”

So he is a fake demon slayer? How can he use the title without believing it to be accurate? As I said, he is neither sincere, honest, nor straightforward.

I read your link and saw that Missler wrote “The medium carried out Sauls instructions, but rather than using the tricks of her trade to deceive Saul, she herself was shocked to see an old man appear, whom Saul identified as Samuel!”

There is NO textual support for this position. There is never even an insinuation that the medium is a fraud. The simplest, most logical and straightforward reading is that she is a real medium who calls up real demons who pose as ghosts. There is also no indication that she is surprised when Samuel appears. None.

    I Samuel 28:11-14 NIV

Then the woman asked, “Whom shall I bring up for you?”
    “Bring up Samuel,” he said.
When the woman saw Samuel, she cried out at the top of her voice and said to Saul, “Why have you deceived me? You are Saul!”
The king said to her, “Don’t be afraid. What do you see?”
The woman said, “I see a spirit coming up out of the ground.”
“What does he look like?” he asked.
“An old man wearing a robe is coming up,” she said.
Then Saul knew it was Samuel, and he bowed down and prostrated himself with his face to the ground.

When the medium cries out, she does not say “That’s a REAL ghost!” She says, “You are Saul!” She is certain that she will be killed, which is what Saul did to so many other mediums in Israel. She cannot believe that the one who killed mediums has secretly hired her. Her words make this plain.

If Kubinski is performing exorcisms, he should not be promoting and advertising himself in a prideful way. I’m sure you’ve seen the promotional material for his podcasts. Do you think that material represent the love of God, or the power of Christ? Those are the only two weapons we have in our fight against evil.

It would be very interesting to hear an interview of someone who received deliverance from “the Demon Slayer”.

When the woman saw Samuel, she cried out at the top of her voice

You can interpret that as you like. As Missler notes:

The traditional rabbinical view is that these verses record a genuine appearance of Samuel that God Himself brought about. There are at least five arguments that favor this view:

    1. The medium was surprised, indicating that something happened that she was not expecting;

  6. You cannot “interpret that as you like”. Your ellipses are hiding the truth. You have to keep reading where she exclaims, “You are Saul!” She does not say “You are Samuel!” If she was a fraud, she would be surprised to see a vision of ANYTHING. She is not. If Samuel was really there as a ghost, Saul would be able to see and recognize him without the help of the medium.

    1. The medium is not surprised to have a vision.
    2. She was surprised to learn that Saul was in her home, using her services.
    3. Saul could not see or hear Samuel, only the medium could.

I don’t really care if you never see this particular plain truth. I care about the general trend toward license in your guest list and your interviews.

  7. Author

    And I appreciate your concern.

You and I are in agreement on the basic point here, which is that the witch was an actual medium. Our only disagreement was whether she was surprised by the appearance of Samuel–which would be consistent with a belief that “ghosts” are actually demons.

My purpose in citing Missler was only to demonstrate that others agree that the witch was surprised by what appeared. Missler may choose to believe she was a fraud; I, like you, disagree with him.
