VFTB Live: Tom Payne — The Template of Time

The Template of Time

DOES THE Bible hold a hidden time code with the answers to some of life’s greatest questions, such as: “What is our destination?” and “When will we get there?”

In The Template of Time, Tom Payne draws on eight years of intensive research as he makes the case for a comprehensive, chronological study of the quirky time patterns scattered throughout the Bible that, when assembled, create an eternal template upon which history unfolds.

Just as atmospheric patterns suggest tomorrow’s weather forecast, the historical patterns of the template suggest future outcomes. As he follows the development of the Roman Empire and its prophesied conflict with the people of God, Payne shows that, as we approach the culmination of processes two thousand years in the making, everyone will be affected.

In the second hour, we discuss the rebranding of the occupation of Iraq, the reasons (or lack thereof) to remain in Afghanistan, rising war tensions in the Middle East, and why we talk so often about the Nephilim.

  1. This Template of time is very interesting ..in that I truly believe God will prepare his people and as far as I can see this is a form of preparing us for things to come! I loved how Tom Payne said God is in control I think we all need to say that to ourselves several times a day especially when seeing everything going on around us today can make us feel down. Great interview enjoyed it very much.

  2. Derek,

As far as you comments concerning the mission of PID, I want to encourage you. There is a huge interest in the paranormal and occult and there is a definite niche’ for a ministry like yours. I suspect that people hear the gospel and are given pause to consider it that would otherwise never encounter it. I see myself moving toward addressing some the topics you guys address after I complete my seminary education.

The Gospel is centered on a resurrection from the dead. Christianity is a supernatural worldview. I think LA Marzulli makes a great point, in that we have the guidebook to the supernatural. I think we can help people to see that and I think the need will increase as the black awakening draws near. Finally there is certainly a biblical mandate for PID in Ephesians 5:

Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. But everything exposed by the light becomes visible, for it is light that makes everything visible. This is why it is said:
    “Wake up, O sleeper,
    rise from the dead,
and Christ will shine on you.”

Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.

Great verse, Cris. Clearly I need to study on Ephesians 5.
