VFTB at the OPS: Mark Biltz – Blood Moons

Pastor Mark Biltz
Mark Biltz

AS THE first of four of the “blood moons” of 2014/2015 is due next week, it seemed appropriate to bring you the interview recorded at the recent Orlando Prophecy Summit with the man who made the world aware of them, Mark Biltz of El Shaddai Ministries.

Mark tells us how he discovered the phenomenon, its possible significance, and shares examples of past Blood Moon events that occurred close to important events in the history of the Jewish people.

Derek and Sharon Gilbert will be at the Prophecy in the News Pikes Peak Prophecy Summit July 25-27, 2014 at the Marriott Hotel in Colorado Springs.  Watch for information here.

  1. Chris White made a debunk video on Mark Biltz’s blood-moon theory.

I’m not taking sides, though. White and Biltz, at times, are prone to faulty logic.

    1. Author

I referenced it after the interview with Mark that I posted last summer. I asked him about such criticism in this interview, which I am sure he has heard before. He deserved a chance to respond. It is an interesting theory, and worth watching regardless of one’s opinion.

  2. I figured that’s what you alluded to, but wasn’t certain of it. You’re right … it’s important to listen to and discuss new ideas that may lead to a better understanding of what is and what’s to come. Great interview.

  3. Good interview. Sadly, I believe, some take Biltz’s take on the signs of heaven as Judaizing, and not really understanding God’s intent. We are confused. Likewise, I appreciated your apology regarding an admonition being given in love. However, sometimes it is necessary to rebuke those who are straying from the Gospel. Some of those “dominionists” may be quite happy if a believer ” snatches them from the fire” before God’s wrath starts. “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy, understanding.” We humans kind of forget, conveniently, God’s judgement is a consequence of His love.

  4. I would like more information about this ,thank you

  5. I’m not sure why people would try to debunk this. It’s definitely not a coincidence that the four blood moons all fall on Jewish feasts. We see he signs in the world today. We know we are living in the last days and that Jesus is about to return. I think he’s right on target.

  6. Sandra, Mark’s book or John Hagee’s book about the blood moons are excellent.

    1. Mark Biltz was the first to bring the significance of the Blood Moons to our attention – 2007-2008.
Others shared additional thoughts and insights, which i think of as icing on the cake. It is exciting to witness so much prophecy unfolding and having ‘helps’ with understanding.

  7. Hi! I’m trying to figure out a way to point this out without taking up the rest of the web page. Here goes:

Mars isn’t the god of war — he’s the god of blood-lust, mayhem, destruction, and violence. The planet’s name in Hebrew also means the same thing: Edom. Edom, the elder twin brother of Jacob, and the source of the tribe of the Edomites. You see this tribe frequently mentioned in scripture, and never in a good way. The Edomites settled in what is now central Jordan. Psalm 83 describes “the tents of the Edomites”, so in modern terms they would be the Palestinian refugees. They are, in a word, mortal enemies of the sons of Jacob who became the sons of Israel.

So, for those viewers just tuning in: we have a prophetically significant planetary event that will be occurring soon. Mars, who is named after the god of murder and mayhem, this coming week will have it’s closest approach to earth for the next two or three years. As this “god of murder and blood” is approaching Earth, we will also see the first of the Blood Moons that are scheduled to fall on the most significant Jewish festivals over the next 2 years. This harbinger of death and destruction, Mars, will be visible in the night sky appearing with the Blood Moon, itself an omen of “bad things”. IOW, Mars will spend the coming week coming closer and closer to Earth, and the day that Mars is closest to Earth, the Moon turns to blood.

What’s more, the Hebrew name of this planet (Mars) is the same as the name of the tribe (Edom) that became one of the bitterest enemies of Israel. In one of the great yet-to-be-fulfilled Biblical prophecies (Psalm 83), the Edomites are listed with all the other tribes that surround Israel who will attack Israel in an attempt to wipe their name from the Earth.

Does no one else find all of this to be just a little creepy?

  8. Great interview Derek. While I appreciate your conservative approach in not wanting to name names, I personally think it’s often important to do so. I want to know who to avoid. Now perhaps there are better forums than a prophecy conference, and I certainly get tired of the heresy hunters that attack almost everyone out there, but I believe at times naming names is important. Paul certainly found it necessary at times. I ordered the entire DVD set while in Orlando, but if you have an online article with the NAR material then I’d love to see it. I have at least one friend who I believe is connected to that movement and would therefore like to know more. Thanks.

  9. John: I have a few articles online, but there are better sources. For example, Herescope — while I disagree with their opinion of Tom Horn, Chuck Missler, L.A. Marzulli, Russ Dizdar, Rob Skiba, Doug Hamp, and my wife and me — has done excellent work analyzing the problems with the doctrines of the NAR.

They are currently in the middle of a series on the NAR’s emphasis on the “Presence” of God, and what that word really means to the new Apostles. Their website is http://herescope.blogspot.com/.

I also recommend Holly Pivec’s site http://www.SpiritOfError.org. She has two books due out this year on the NAR which I look forward to reading.

A good primer on the history of the movement is the book Vengeance is Ours: The Church in Dominion by Al Dager. That’s a valuable addition to anyone’s theological reference library.
