VFTB Live: Transhumanism, Ancient Aliens, and 2012

Logos Apologia

THESE MAY seem like unrelated topics, but you’ll see over the course of this two-hour discussion with Cris Putnam, publisher of the excellent Logos Apologia website, that they’re all interconnected. A new religion is developing that’s simply a repackaged old lie: “Ye shall be as gods.”

Cris discusses his articles The Doctrine of Man: A Critique of Christian Transhumanism and Ancient Astronaut Theory Meets 2012.  Basically, divine creation and the literal fall from grace — and thus sin and salvation — must be removed from the transhumanist/ancient astronaut equations to be coherent worldviews.

As for 2012, the hype about the end of the age is based on information from channeled spirits.  What do they gain by convincing the world that it has 23 months to go?

  1. Cris’ point that the fallen “will be what you want them to be” is worth pursuing. Proverbs 10:24 “The fear of the wicked, it shall come on him: but the desire of the righteous shall be granted.” It could lead to a unified theory of evil.

Derek’s point that some enhancement may be career choices, could easily extend to super soldiers. Superheroes are false saviors. Same goes for “super scientists.”

Rudy Rucker’s sci-fi like “PostSingular” proposes sub-dimensions and super-dimensions that follow his math studies. Angels are super dimensional entities. We see that not only science but math and technology can be corrupted — apart from Christ.

The only “you” that matters is the one recognized by God.

The “Image of the Beast” is more plausible for an AI. The 10 horns of Revelation 17 which have “one mind” also might represent a technological ESP that links them directly.

The seduction will come in fantasy before reality. No different than Christ’s teachings that what manifests openly starts in the heart. “Ye shall be as gods” is the same as “you can be a superhero.” http://goo.gl/dQSOf “DC Universe Online” story on Yahoo News.

That seduction is not so different than trying to “save” people online in our own power. Rather than helping Christ, and walking with Him as His bride.
